Kronos Canada Inc. chooses Cognibox to manage contractors efficiently, cost-effectively and securely

Kronos Canada Inc. now manages the qualification of its contractors with Cognibox. Thanks to its efficient and user-friendly modules, this solution reduces the workload associated with the processing of contractor files for all aspects related to the company and worker’s compliance and training management. This software also provides a broadcasting platform for e-learning training, allowing contractor’s employees to take their courses directly in Cognibox.

Cognibox implementation confirms Kronos Canada Inc.’s commitment to continuously improve their practices and to ensure the organization conducts business with top performing contractors, ensuring their overall compliance including occupational health and safety and the environment. An induction training is also being prepared to bring rigor and provide standards for the information communicated to contractors upon their arrival on site.

This metallurgical processing company joins other Cognibox customers in the same industry, such as Rio Tinto, Elkem, Alcoa and Alouette.

KRONOS Canada, Inc., is a wholly owned subsidiary of KRONOS Worldwide, Inc. The headquarters and sales offices are located in Montreal, while the manufacturing plant is located at Varennes, Quebec. Canadian Titanium pigments was founded in 1936 and the Varennes plant was inaugurated in September 1957 with a production volume of 13,500 mt/y via sulfate process. The site has an area of roughly 290,000 m2. The current production capacity is 17,000 mt/y via sulfate process and 85,000 mt/y via chloride process. The Varennes plant is the only manufacturing site for TiO2 pigments in Canada and sole TiO2-producer in North America able to produce TiO2 also by means of the sulfate process. We are also sole producer of food-grade (FDA approved) TiO2-pigments in North America. KRONOS Canada employs a total of 400 people of which 311 are covered by a labour agreement. All employees are well qualified and trained for their particular tasks based on their education and professional experience as well as our continuous training programs. This way, we ensure that our plant is operated by well-qualified chemical workers and crafts men.
