IOC to Use Cognibox LMS for Employee Training Management

After discussions with current users and evaluation of various other solutions, IOC has selected Cognibox LMS for its employee training and skills management. After Arcelor Mittal, Iamgold, Cliffs Natural resources, Québécor, Lafarge and Aluminerie Alouette, Cognibox LMS  arrives at IOC to complement SAP, which will still be used for human resources management. Simultaneous with the introduction of Cognibox LMS, the SIM IT team will set up exchange gateways with the existing system for the transfer of historical data and to enable daily updates of company HR data to Cognibox.

This agreement covers not only the implementation of Cognibox LMS for all of the IOC Mining Company and the management of 2800 employee profiles, but also the development of training planning features through a management grid that displays training needs (training plan) by department, by site, etc., and shows them on a monthly, annual or other basis.

This new contract demonstrates the quality and reliability of the training management solution offered by SIM. Fully accessible online, Cognibox LMS allows management of employee training records and skills in relation to the job requirements. Thanks to its advanced reporting, Cognibox LMS enables all information pertaining to an employee to be gathered, this data to be cross-checked with the profile of one or more positions, and training needs for a group, a department or for the whole company to be planned.

“It is a great source of pride for us that our solution can supplant important players like SAP and that we can take our place in a market where only the best succeed. We invested a lot in the development of Cognibox in order to align with the real needs of the users. We see now that we have won our gamble to become unbeatable among the large international players in training management,” states Denis Trepanier, Vice President of Cognibox development and operations.

Cognibox LMS enables organizations to manage the training, skills, work procedures and professional qualifications of their employees with regard to the requirements of the positions they hold. Cognibox LMS is the most advanced solution for human resources skills and training management, enabling diagnostics of individual needs by position, department or entire business unit. It incorporates comparative analysis [or benchmarking] features to quickly see needs and levels of proficiency among individuals, groups or positions. Its user-friendly structure provides managers, from HR specialists to supervisors, easy and direct access to the positions and employee groups that are relevant to them.
